Let's end refugee homelessness

Please support our call for extending the time refugees have to find accommodation and avoid homelessness.

Receiving refugee status should be good news. But after waiting many months and sometimes years, people who receive refugee status have a limited amount of time to find their own accommodation, or they might find themselves homeless.

Many of our volunteer members have told us about the harrowing stories of people who are given 7 days to find their own accommodation and as a result, are finding themselves homeless and with nowhere to go.

But there is some good news! Recently the Government extended the amount of time people have to find accommodation to 56 days. However, they only extended this period until June 2025, after which the length of time people have could go back to only 28 or even 7 days.

Can you help us ask the Government to permanently extend this policy and allow refugees to have at least 56 days to find accommodation?

Please email your MP today and ask them to end refugee homelessness.
